Yes
it is real. Andy Murray has finally ended Britain's drought for a
Wimbledon title, ending the match with straight sets 6-4, 7-5, 6-4.
Celebrities, political figures, former tennis champions and players were present at the Centre Court. Too bad the queen wasn't present during the epic match. Her last visit to Wimbledon was 2010 to watch the 2nd round match of Andy Murray and Jarkko Nieminen.
It was a tight game but it sure does have an effect when almost everyone from the court cheers for Murray. Saw a post on twitter that maybe Djokovic feels "alone" (though his team and gf was there).
News have highlighted that finally after 77 years, Britain finally won back Wimbledon's Singles Men title since 1936 when Fred Perry won the finals against Gottfried von Cramm from Germany. It was actually Perry's 3rd consecutive Wimbledon title, winning since 1934. With all these news that came out, it somehow appeared that Britain's last Wimbledon title was 77 years ago. But it wasn't. It was just 36 years ago. Because in 1977, Virginia Wade won the title for Britain in the Ladies' Singles Final (and yes, the queen was there).
Congrats to Andy Murray (and to all his fans). Leaving you a quote from Andy Murray:

"That win was for myself but I also understand how much everyone else wanted to see a British winner at Wimbledon. I hope you guys enjoyed it. I tried my best."
