Syrian civil war

"The international community cannot remain silent on Syria... I didn't set the red line. The world did "
- President Obama

I agree that actions should be made because if nothing is done, integrity of the international law will be questioned. It is also true that if no action is made, it will give ideas to other nations like Syria, Iran, etc. that violation of international norms won't be dealt seriously.

However, is striking Syria the only solution? Makes me think if the US didn't violate international norms when they sent firefighters to bomb Afghanistan.

As different nations hold debates and discussions, the citizens of Syria continue to suffer.

UK Syria Debate

Should be doing something else but got stuck, and now enjoying, the UK Syria Debate in the UK Parliament regarding the intervention in the conflict in Syria.

Prime Minister Cameron: "This is not about invasion. This is about stopping the use of chemical weapons"

I just noticed how good British Prime Minister David Cameron during the UK Syria Debate was. It was like he ate British Opposition Leader Ed Miliband alive. The opposition has points but for people from the outside who are listening, I don't think he was able to assert his points well.

Maybe there should be debates like this in the Philippines. So we will know if our politicians are really thinking/using their heads. Let the representatives be given the chance to air their comments and suggestions. Not bad eh?
