Hey! Hey! Hey! Finally, I had the time (and the mood) to write my first entry for the new year. I apologize to those who frequently visit the site just to be welcomed (was it even welcoming?) by the same old blog entry. The owner has been busy since the fifteenth of December for many reasons. And I would like to make it clear that those reasons were activities that really eats time (falusot…) and it’s not because I am already taken (where did you even get that idea? How come I don’t even know? You can’t even give me a name!).
I’m not going to talk about the proverbial new year’s resolution. I don’t have any. If there are things I wanted to do or do not want to do, I probably would have been in the process of racking myself to make it possible since last year. That is why I don’t think I still have to say anything about any of those.
We all learn a lot every year. Well that is if we take time to reflect the situations we’ve been through which I actually did, but not with every experience. You see, I can be pretty stubborn at times. Now, the succeeding statements are not just based on one kind of relationship or situation. These are things I’ve learned (and I’m still trying to fully inject some of them in my head ‘coz like what I’ve said, I’m a bit stubborn) which I also want to share with you, most especially to some of you whom I know is going through some predicaments and arduous times.
I have been through some troughs and looking back made me think what have I actually done to reach the point where I am now. When we break and fall really hard on the ground, there are times when it’s really difficult to stand up. But standing up is not enough. You have to walk your way to forgiveness and recovery.
We have to forgive others and we also have to forgive ourselves. For the things we didn’t do and for the things we should have done. Most of the time, we learn through the deadlier way. Recovering always requires repentance.
Recovering also requires renunciation. It is about giving up things we know isn’t good for us anymore. It takes a huge amount of audacity because it’s about taking risks. Giving up something that means a lot to us is very difficult.
There are instances wherein situations can be settled within all angles. However, there are some wherein you have to choose only one.
In connection to that, we have to learn how to love ourselves. Sometimes, we’re too focused on other people that we forget to care about how we feel and how we are.
Lastly, true love is the type that makes life wonderful. It’s the kind of love that comforts and the kind that makes you find faith in joy…
