The Notebook

This is an old movie way back in 2004. I saw a DVD being sold at the mall and I remember I wrote something about this movie on my old blog and decided to post it here...

-----
At first, I don’t really feel like watching the movie. It didn’t have any appeal on me -- the title and the picture on the entertainment section of the newspaper. But when I heard the lines, “I waited for you for seven years!” and “What do you want?! ‘Coz I want you” on a commercial about the movie on the radio, I told myself, I have to watch it.

The plot isn’t something new. The love story had similarities to other love stories you might have watched from the past. However, the lines delivered and the characters played were touching (for me) and has a of lot lessons to share.

Lessons:
1.Never reminisce with a past love if you don’t want to lose your sanity. If you would be given the chance to meet and talk to someone whom you’ve had some romantic past with (whether you became lovers or not), never reminisce if you don’t want anything…as in anything.… to happen between the two of you. Because if you do, you might end up staring at each other and kissing and so on.

2.Give those people who’s in love with you, even if they’re not your type, a chance to prove themselves. Why? They might turn out to be the person you’re actually looking for.

3.Choose someone who brings out the best in you. Choose someone who makes you do the things you really want. Someone who brings glow in your eyes, joy to your heart and peace to your mind.

4.Try not to have “what if” cases or hanging relationships. If there’s fire, don’t just leave it there. You go for it. Fight for it. Don’t let it slip away because it can hunt you wherever you go and whatever you do at any point in time. And it can take years (I can’t help but grin)

5.Behind every great love is a great story.
